Law and Policy Fellow, IRIS
Matthew Shudtz is a Law and Policy Fellow with the Institute for Resilient Infrastructure Systems. An expert on federal environmental and administrative law, he previously was an analyst and then executive director of the Washington, D.C.-based Center for Progressive Reform. There, he collaborated with legal scholars and public policy advocates to address various institutional and procedural barriers that stand in the way of improved environmental, public health, and social justice outcomes. Since joining the IRIS team in early 2021, his research has focused on legal and policy tools that could promote broader implementation of nature-based solutions in flood risk management, especially at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
