Nature-based Solutions and Natural Infrastructure Network Design Workshop

Purpose: To develop a strategic plan for expanding a natural infrastructure resilience network in the Mississippi and Colorado River Basins.

Objectives

  1. Identify key opportunities, barriers and needs in each basin related to the implementation of natural infrastructure for hazard (flood, wildfire, drought) management. 
  1. Identify skills and attributes of resilience people that can help promote and implement NI projects in each basin.  
  1. Explore opportunities for expanding a network for natural infrastructure to benefit partners, people, community, and livelihoods.

A draft agenda is coming soon. We plan to meet on Tuesday, January 23 and adjourn on Wednesday, January 24.  

The meeting will be held at Le Meridien, Denver Downtown (1475 California St, Denver, CO).

Attendance to the workshop is by invitation only. We are bringing together stakeholders and decision makers within the Colorado and Mississippi Basin including local, state, and federal government representatives, academics, NGOs, and associations.
