Virginia Bacon Talati is a program coordinator with the Institute for Resilient Infrastructure Systems at the University of Georgia. Prior to joining UGA, she was a study director with the Computer Science and Telecommunications Board at the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine in Washington, DC. Her expertise is in a wide array of telecommunication, information and communication technology, and computer science issues, including technologies for emergency alerts, cybersecurity, and computer science research programs. Reports include Future of Emergency Alert and Warning Systems, A 21st Century Cyber-Physical Systems Education, A Review of Next Generation Air Transportation Systems, and Computing Research for Sustainability. She completed a Masters in Public Policy from George Mason University and a B.S. from Georgia Institute of Technology.
