We’re looking for a science communications intern!

Join the IRIS team as we work toward more resilient communities and ecosystems through the use of natural infrastructure.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated student worker with an interest in science communications to join the Institute for Resilient Infrastructure Systems (IRIS) team. IRIS is an interdisciplinary group of researchers from over 12 university units who study and implement ways to increase resilience in our communities and ecosystems through integration of natural and conventional  infrastructure.

The communications intern will work closely with IRIS communications coordinator and faculty members to develop content for traditional and social media outlets and stakeholders. They will be responsible for regular social media posts, assisting in interviewing and writing research features, developing graphics and one-pagers, and helping with some entry-level backend WordPress development. The science communications intern should be experienced with creating content for Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter. Some experience with inDesign, Illustrator, Mailchimp, WordPress, and Photoshop is preferred.
